Meet Molly Jones-Lower Elementary First Level
Molly Jones is a lovely little sprite of a girl that has been at Montessori Academy of Spartanburg since she was three years old.  Molly is now in our Lower Elementary class in first grade.  Mollys parents Trina Jones, PhD., and Jeremy Jones, MFA, felt that Montessori Academy was the perfect environment for Molly to thrive and she really has!  Molly says that she loves Montessori Academy of Spartanburg because it is fun.  She loves to do work, and the more challenging the work the better.  Molly loves working on the Bead Chain in math.  Molly says that it makes her very happy to learn new things and she likes to tell her parents what she learned every day, because every day she learns something new.  Molly thinks that all the Guides/Teachers are very nice and she likes that they talk to her quietly.  Molly says that the very best thing about Montessori is that she has met so many friends from all over the world, as Montessori Academy embraces diversity, and different cultures from around the world.

Meet Jesseca Kusher-Montessori Middle School Student.

          Meet Jesseca Kusher-

Jesseca is a 12 year old seventh grader here at Montessori Academy.  Jesseca began her Montessori career at the age of three in the Primary classroom.  Jesseca is the oldest of three children; and her two younger brothers Ian and Logan also attend Montessori Academy of Spartanburg.  Jesseca’s parents, Dr. Michelle Carney M.D., and Dr.Dave Kusher, PhD are truly devoted to the Montessori Philosophy and serve on Montessori Academy’s PTO Board.

Jesseca says that her favorite thing about Montessori Academy is that she loves being able to put her hands on the work that she is doing.  She loves being able to see, touch and feel things that she is learning about.  She also says that Montessori Academy is so warm and friendly; she likes that everyone knows each other.  She also likes the fact that she can go at her own pace with her work; if she is studying something that she doesn’t quite get she can take her time and spend more time comprehending and really grasping the information.  Jesseca says that because of this, she has learned how to manage her time appropriately which has in turn, made her a very responsible 12 year old!  Montessori has also given her self confidence at school and throughout the community of Spartanburg.  She doesn’t have a problem talking in public, and easily approaches and speaks with new people.

The most important thing to Jesseca about the Montessori Method and Montessori Academy is the sense of calm and the sense of community.  Montessori is peaceful and teaches peace and respect for others and for you.  This is important to Jesseca and this should be important to you because Jesseca is our future!!!!!
